Sending and Receiving SMS
We support several methods for you to send SMS text messages through our SMS gateway service:
- Using our XMLRPC API: This is our preferred mechanism. XMLRPC is a programmatic API used by many web services as a standard mechanism for procedure calls across the web. XMLRPC traffic can be transported over HTTPS, so it is secure and encrypted. Learn more about XMLRPC in our Support section. Sample source code is also available.
- Using the ByRSVP web site: Login to your account on ByRSVP and use our web interface to send your SMS. This is convenient for a person to use, but it may be clumpsy to interface with your programs or systems.
- Using our Email Interface: We can also convert email we receive from you into an SMS to send out. This is generally not preferred because email is not secure, not encrypted and easily forged.
To receive SMS text messages, users simply send the SMS to ByRSVP's special number. The SMS text message needs to be prefixed with a special code which we will assign to your account. This allows ByRSVP to route the received messages to the correct account.
SMS text messages for your account will be delivered to you via email. We are also developing other interface options.
